New Delhi: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Shri Subhash Chopra and chairman of the Campaign Committee Kirti Azad said that both Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were indulging in shadow-boxing in the name of regularization of unauthorized colonies, to throw dust into the eyes of the hard-working people of Poorvanchal, and others living in the unauthorized colonies, including minorities, and take them for a ride.
Subhash Chopra and Kirti Azad said that the BJP and the AAP were colluding to create a make-belief situation to fool the people living in unauthorized colonies with an eye on the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. They said that it will take a minimum of 3-4 months to complete the process of regularization of the unauthorized colonies, and by then the Assembly elections would be over in Delhi. They said that after garnering the votes of the Poorvanchalis and lakhs of others living in the unauthorized colonies, there will be no regularization of the unauthorized colonies. They said that both the BJP and the AAP have been fooling the people with false promises in the last five years, and the promise to regularize the unauthorized colonies was yet another “jumla” by the BJP and the AAP, to fool the people.
Subhash Chopra and Kirti Azad cautioned the Poorvanchalis and others living in unauthorized colonies of Delhi not to be taken in by the hollow promises of BJP and AAP as these parties have no intention to actualize the regularization of the unauthorized colonies once the Delhi Assembly elections get over.
Subhash Chopra and Kirti Azad demanded that the process of regularization of the unauthorized colonies should be done on a war-footing so that it is completed before the Delhi Assembly elections. They said that the Congress party will not tolerate any move to betray the poor people living in the unauthorized colonies.
Subhash Chopra and Kirti Azad demanded that no development charges or circle rate should be charged from those living in the unauthorized colonies set for regularization. They warned that if the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party Governments collude to impose any development charge on those living in the unauthorize colonies before giving them ownership rights, the Congress party will mount an agitation to get them due justice.
Subhash Chopra and Kirti Azad said that when the Congress comes to power, we will not take any development charges or circle rate from the people.
Subhash Chopra and Kirti Azad said that when the Congress Government headed by Sheila Dikshit was in power in Delhi, hundreds of unauthorized colonies were regularized, without inflicting financial burden on the poor people.
Chopra and Azad slammed both the BJP Government at the Centre and the AAP Government in Delhi for sleeping over the regularization of the unauthorized colonies for the past five years and accused them of waking up to this task only when the Delhi Assembly elections were at the door step, to take political capital out of it.
Subhash Chopra and Kirti Azad said that the Congress Government not only regularized hundreds of unauthorized colonies during its 15-year rule, but also began the process of constructing in-situ flats to settle those living in the JJ Clusters by starting construction of such flats in the Kalkaji JJ Clusters. They said that the Congress party never made any hollow promises, and whatever promises the party made were fulfilled without inflicting any financial burden on the people.
